Why do hackers and defenders talk about 1s and 0s? Because deep inside, a computer is just millions of tiny light switches. A switch is ON (1) or OFF (0) — nothing else! In the 1930s–40s, pioneers like Claude Shannon realized you could build ALL of math, letters, and pictures from just those two states. That idea is called binary, and it still runs everything today.
